Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Unit have identified and charged a sixth suspect in connection with the disappearance and death of Yuk-Ying Anita MUI.
On Friday, August 9, 2024, MUI was reported missing by family after they had not heard from her since 11 a.m. Later that day, her white 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE450 sport utility vehicle was located in the area of Finch Avenue East and Warden Avenue, in the City of Toronto.
On August 12, 2024, Ontario Provincial Police officers reported burned human remains had been located in the area of Avro Arrow Road and Highway 400, in the Town of Parry Sound. On August 21, 2024, the Office of the Chief Coroner positively identified the deceased as MUI.
On January 15, 2025, investigators arrested Javin LIU and charged him with several charges, including Manslaughter, in connection with MUI’s homicide.

To date, a total of six people have been charged in relation to the disappearance and murder of Yuk-Ying Anita MUI.
A Canada-wide warrant for First Degree Murder remains in effect for 47-year-old ZhixiongMarko HU, from the City of Markham.
