Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking suspects following a failed armed carjacking in the City of Vaughan.
On Thursday, July 11, 2024, at approximately 1 a.m., police responded to an armed carjacking in the area of Jane Street and Exchange Avenue. The victim had just parked his vehicle when he was approached by two suspects, one of them armed with a gun. The suspects were unable to locate the key for the victim’s vehicle and left in a white sedan, operated by a third suspect.
The victim was not seriously injured.
Suspect 1:
- Male, Black
- Wearing a black windbreaker, black pants, white sneakers and white balaclava
- Carrying a firearm
Suspect 2:
- Male, Black
- Wearing a black Nike hooded sweatshirt, grey sweatpants, black sneakers and black balaclava
Suspect 3:
- Remained in the vehicle, no description available
Investigators are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Officers would also like to speak with anyone who may have video surveillance or dashcam footage in the area at the time of the incident.
