Investigators with the York Regional Police #2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking suspects and are appealing for witnesses following a shooting in the City of Markham.
On Tuesday, March 18, 2024, at approximately 7:40 p.m., police responded to the reports of a shooting in the area of Green Lane and Guardsman Road. The victim was leaving a business in the area when he was approached by the suspect. The suspect then shot the victim multiple times with a handgun. The shooter then fled in a waiting Honda Civic being driven by a second suspect.
The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as male, Black, wearing a black hooded sweater.
There is no available description for the driver of the Honda Civic.
The suspect vehicle is described as a stolen black Honda Civic 10th generation with a red Supreme brand tow strap on the front passenger side and a red and white MUGEN sticker on top of the windshield on the passenger side of the vehicle. At the time of the shooting the vehicle had a blue and white Ontario licence plate CMET480.Investigators believe the incident was targeted.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses and to anyone who has video surveillance of the area, or who may have captured dashcam video on nearby roadways at the time of the incident. Anyone who has not yet spoken to police is asked to please come forward.
