Investigators with the #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have laid sexual assault charges against a landlord in the City of Markham.

On May 5, 2025, the victim met with the suspect at a condominium in the area of Water Walk Drive and Rougeside Promenade to return the unit key. While inside the condominium unit, the suspect touched the victim in a sexual manner and prevented them from leaving.

Eventually, the victim managed to flee and was not physically injured.

On May 22, 2025, Renkai Rex Kevin LIN, 47, of the City of Toronto, was charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement.
