Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged a 32-year-old man with sexual offences involving a youth in the City of Vaughan.
The victim met the suspect through an online messaging platform a few months prior and portrayed himself to be 18-years-old. He maintained his age throughout their communication.
On February 18, 2025, the suspect ordered a ride-share to pick the victim up at their school and bring them to his residence. Once there, the suspect engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim.
On February 19, 2025, the victim reported the incident to police as they believed the male to be older than what he had portrayed.
Through investigation, the suspect was identified as being older than 18-years-old.
Investigators are releasing a photo of the suspect as they believe there to be more victims and encourage them to come forward.

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police would like to encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
