Investigators with the York Regional Police Special Victims Unit have charged a man in connection with a sexual assault on a bus in the City of Richmond Hill, and are appealing for any witnesses or additional victims to come forward.
On Monday, April 21, 2025, between 6 and 7 p.m., the victim reported that they were travelling on a bus from Yonge Street in Richmond Hill to Finch Station in the City of Toronto, a male suspect sat beside her and touched her in a sexual manner. The victim yelled at the suspect and reported the incident to the bus driver.
Police were notified and the suspect was charged.
Investigators are releasing images of the suspect as they believe he may have been involved in similar incidents. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police would like to encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence. If you are the survivor of sexual assault, you can report the incident online if:
- You are not in immediate danger
- The person who assaulted you is not present
- There is no evidence present that may be collected by police (blood, semen, saliva, etc.). Evidence can be collected for up to 12 days after the sexual assault has occurred
- You have access to a private email address, to which the suspect does not
