Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses after a fatal motor vehicle collision in the City of Vaughan.
On Sunday, January 12, 2025, at approximately 1:15 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a sedan at the intersection of Major Mackenzie Drive and Dufferin Street.
The passenger of the sedan, an 85-year-old woman from Richmond Hill, was transported to hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the SUV remained on scene.
There we no other injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, and to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area around the time of the collision, to please come forward.
