CASE WORKER FROM GRIMSBY FACING CHILD LURING CHARGES

Investigators with the York Regional Police Counter Exploitation Unit have charged a 71-year-old Grimsby man with child luring following an investigation and are appealing to other victims.

On February 15, 2025, investigators were notified that a youth victim had been in frequent communication with the suspect whom they met through a friend in November 2024. The suspect indicated he was a therapist and would offer his services at no cost.

Between November 2024 and February 2025, the suspect frequently messaged the victim and met with them. The messages from the suspect evolved to expressing his feelings toward the victim beyond a professional relationship.

Through investigation, the suspect was identified and a search warrant was executed on April 16, 2025, at a residence in the Town of Grimsby. As a result, 71-year-old Norman BEHIE was charged.

The suspect was employed as a Case Worker and investigators believe there may be additional victims. They are encouraged to contact investigators as soon as possible.

Charged:

  • Norman BEHIE, 71, of the Town of Grimsby

Charges:

  • Luring a Child
