Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are appealing for witnesses and seeking up to four suspects following an attempted carjacking in the City of Markham.
On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at approximately 10 p.m., the victim’s vehicle was parked in a commercial plaza in the area of Yonge Street and Glen Cameron Road. As the victim entered his vehicle and attempted to close the door, he was approached by three males, with one pointing a firearm at him.
The suspects forcibly removed the victim from his vehicle and physically assaulted him. The victim managed to escape with his car keys, and the suspects fled in a dark grey, four-door sedan driven by a fourth suspect.
The victim sustained minor injuries.
All three males are described as young, possibly South Asian, wearing black clothing, including masks and gloves. No description was obtained for the fourth suspect.
