Biography

The Very Useful Theatre Company is a not-for-profit organization, the goal of which is to encourage and facilitate the performing arts and to utilize theatrical performances as fund-raising events for charitable organizations in our community.

The goal of the organization is to secure adequate facilities for the performing arts and to raise funds for that purpose.

The company will encourage, facilitate and promote performances by various theatre companies, organizations and artists, but will not put on theatrical productions of its own.

This will have the beneficial effects of promoting the performing arts and, in addition, requiring that an appropriate share of the proceeds of such events shall be shared with a charity, service club or other not-for-profit association or corporation serving the community.

The Very Useful Theatre Company was formed in 1993 thanks to Founder Ross Bayley and John Dowson with “theatre helping the community itself.” They have produced a number of projects, the One-Act Festival of Plays being their most successful.
